In 2020 I decided that I would write my music curriculum for the school, as I wanted it to reflect us!
The basis of the curriculum was taken from 'What your child needs to know' created by CIVITAS https://www.civitas.org.uk/press/a-knowledge-based-curriculum-is-what-our-children-need/
All the listening is either taken from BBC Ten Pieces or other resources that I have listed on the 'Free Primary Music Resources' page of this website.
Additionally, I use Sing up to provide our singing resources and have identified instrumental books to be used when delivering instruments in class.
All classes study an instrument whilst participating in a music lesson. Currently, the structure is as follows:
KS1 - Ocarina
LKS2 - Brass
UKS2 - Ukulele
However, this can easily be changed to suit the skills of the teacher.
Other schools have shown interest in these documents and I am delighted to share them with other schools.
If you would like to discuss using these documents, please get in touch.
